I personally like more conversation, but I also understand why this would be liked. The romantic relationship between Rika and Michael is largely based on sex. I’m not sure what would be a spoiler, so I won’t go into too much detail. This is definitely steamy and very erotic. Honestly, I’m still feeling out the dark romance subgenre, but I’m trying to push myself.
I liked parts of it, but it also may be a little too dark for me. You are sucked in from the very beginning and nothing can drag you away from finding out what all went down on Devil’s Night.I am so conflicted about this. This book has a little bit of it all: Alpha Male, (Eventual) Strong Female Protagonist, Drama, Smut, and oh so much suspense. Sure, the smut was a little much considering the male protagonist was a complete and total twatwaffle to the FMC for literally the entire book and she still did whatever he said anyways, but hey, some people are into that kind of thing. However, something bad happens that night and 3 of the 4 Horsemen find themselves in prison and Rita finds herself with an unknown target on her back for when they get out. Michael doesn’t know Rita exists (or so she thinks) until “Devil’s Night” 3 years ago when the Four Horsemen of Thunder Bay come out to play and allow Rita to tag along for the fun. Girl (named Rita) has a huge mega crush on her ex-boyfriend’s brother (named Michael). It does get a little…smutty…during some parts which in my opinion was just a liiiitttttllleeeee much considering the situation between the two main characters, but hey, to each his own 🤷🏼♀️ This book grabs you from the very beginning and pulls you right into the story. Let’s talk about MANIPULATION!! If you’re into villainous crushes and overbearing men-children, then whoa-ho-ho have I got the book for you!!
